The Selby School: Creative Documentary Photography (LA + NYC) 2018

Here’s something fun we’ve been cooking up. It’s called Selby School and its a 3 hour hands-on photography class taught by moi, Todd Selby. We start the class with a slideshow where I chat about how I got started, and then introduce different ways to bring creativity to documentary style photography. We then head outside for the hands-on part of the class where students get creative and take lots of photos keeping in mind the concepts we chatted about prior. We then all meet back up an hour later to share the photos we took and our experiences. The class is 100% free for our students. Tickets are always extremely limited as this is a hands-on workshop and we want to maximize learning for the students involved.

If you are interested in taking a future class sure to sign up for our mailing list to hear about the next one we do. If you’re interested in collaborating with us or sponsoring a class, feel free to email [email protected]

Some of the many topics discussed in Selby School include:

1.  Taking photos versus making photos.
2.  How to bring your own creative spin to photography.
3.  Photo composition.
4.  How to work with talent.
5. Tigers versus Ligers.
